where the pen is mightier than the sword -- knowledge conveyed through language is power, and I promise to ensure accuracy and speed
I provide basic proofreading, copyediting, line editing, and mechanical editing following the Chicago Manual of Style/Turabian Style and the MLA Style Manual. My experience stems from seven years in an academic setting where I earned a B.A. in English, a B.A. in history, and an M.A. in history. During my undergraduate years, I volunteered as an English tutor and helped run the Writing Clinic at Jacksonville State University. Midway through graduate school, I volunteered as a peer-based editor for "The Vulcan Historical Review Journal" for the University of Alabama at Birmingham for one year before accepting a promotion to co-head editor for an additional year. I truly enjoy grammar work and find a passion in paperwork; I am open to both short term and long term projects.
Work Terms
I am available 20-30 hours a week. My preferred method of contact is through email. I am open to short term and long term projects, and I maintain flexibility when establishing pricing depending on the complexity and length of project.
