looking for an opportunity to learn and contribute to an architecture practice.
Before stating my inspiration for taking up Architecture, I must share my story regarding my inspiration for taking up architecture. As a kid, I was immensely fond of bridges and stadiums, although I knew nothing about them during that time. I would gaze at them with wonder and would dream about building one someday. As time went by, as a student of Architecture, I started learning more about these giants from the architectural point of view, such as sustainability, structural approaches. For my undergraduate architecture thesis, I chose to design an International Sports Complex, Dwarka, Delhi. I immensely enjoyed working on my thesis as I could finally give some shape to my dream as the stadium began to come to life from my initial sketches through drawings and models. My interactions with Prof. Andrew Charleson of the Victorial University at Wellington, New Zealand inspired me to search for solutions that went beyond the purely functional. I achieved the second position in the final evaluation of the thesis. The complex comprised of an internationally standard football stadium, a multipurpose hall, an Olympic standard swimming pool and few other indoor-outdoor facilities. Even though I wasn’t able to explore the design of bridges, but it is remains my inspiration and I will work very hard in coming years to be a part of any one these hugely challenging real-life projects. After graduation, I relocated to Pondicherry where I worked for a little less than a year in an architectural and interiors consultancy practice. My responsibilities covered a wide range right from furniture designing, to architectural design and working drawings, to developing prototypes.
Currently I have relocated in Mumbai, working as a junior architect at a Mumbai-Ahmedabad based landscape firm.
I am very comfortable working as a part of a team and also have the ability to assume the role of a team leader. I am an ardent learner with effective communication skills.
