Creating Visual Dynamics in Animation, Illustration and Design
From the days of crayons and thick white paste to the present, I have always created with my hands. Drawing everything I found interesting as a kid and working with my hands on self imposed projects occupied most of my early days. Before I was 13, my brother and I had built a wood and canvas canoe from a mail order kit that came in on the train. In later years I would be involved in the building process of houses and appartments, air brushing T-Shirts, vans and motorcycle tanks as time allowed. While in my twenties, I laid down most of the construction tools and took my first job as a staff artist for a curriculum publishing company.
Now, the end of 2014, I have logged over 25 years in a wide spectrum of Visual Art & Design. I have worked with traditional art mediums like oils, watercolor, pencil and pastel, created VIA the airbrush, designed graphics and 3D models and animation for Print, Web and Video. All of these areas of visual design occupy the same basic foundation of color, values and composition.
When I'm not sitting behind these two large computer screens creating with my tablet and pen, I am across the room standing in front of a canvas or Ampersand Pastel Bord working with oils or pastels to create a painting to deliver to one of the local galleries that represent my fine art. It seems my hobbies and professional life are woven into one mosaic cloth; each thread supporting the other.
