Writing and Editing at a Professional Level

I always loved languages and after competing University worked as an English teacher for a couple of years. Although generally enjoyable, I found the job began to lack challenge. I became more interested in actually developing teaching materials and writing, rather than simply teaching others to write. I obtained a job working as a columnist and editorial assistant for Northern News Services while completing a Master of Education. After completing my Master, rather than working in educational development as I had assumed I would, I was offered a position as Executive Director for the NWT Medical Association in Canada. I enjoyed the challenge but missed writing and after a couple of years moved to Abu Dhabi with my husband and son where I worked as Associate Editor for Oasis Living Magazine, followed by Editor in Chief for The Source, an English speaking publication which I helped to launch.
At this time I am living in Milan, Italy, working on a start up business while simultaneously completing my first book.
