About

Eclectic artist combining Eastern and Western aesthetics to deliver unparalleled service to clients big and small.

Spike O'Laochdha is a freelance illustrator specializing in sequential art. Born in New York City, he spent much of his youth in Vermont. Even from a young age, Spike demonstrated a clear passion for creating comics. His desire to become a professional artist later inspired his return to New York as an illustration student at Pratt Institute. Spike took on a wide variety of projects as a freelance graphic artist following graduation, including editorial images, book illustration, movie posters, and video game concept art. This range of work fostered the development of an eclectic skill set, prior to finally achieving full-time status as a comic book artist. From pencils and inks, to coloring and lettering, Spike has worked in many roles on titles spanning a breadth of genres. Most recently, his projects have included XIX Lies Comics' Gs and Subject D-17 (artist and letterer), BL Dwyer's The Searcher (pencils and inks), and, of course, Horde Media's Scrimshaw (letterer). These days, Spike resides in The Catskills where he maintains his own office. When he isn't freelancing, he's developing his first solo project, Clockwork, a family drama in the style of action manga. See more of Spike's work at: www.spike-o.com.
