Organizing creative thoughts into meaningful words and prose

I am from Durham, NC. Graduated from high school and attended Meredith College in Raleigh, NC where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a Professional Writing minor. While there I wrote articles for the college's marketing department during an internship. I graduated in 2009 and began working for the Durham County Sheriff's Office in communications in 2010. I answer emergency telephone lines for the agency. While here I have been given several opportunities to put my English and writing degree to use writing different proposals here and there. I do have a personal blog site where I get to write whenever I like but I'm looking for a more permanent way to flex my creative writing muscles here!

Work Terms

I do work full-time with the Sheriff's Office, however, I work 12 hours shifts so I have plenty of ''down time'' during the week and some weekends that I'm looking to fill. I am trying to make some extra money to supplement our income and looking to use my expertise in my particular wheelhouse, so to speak, to earn it. I'm not trying to get rich from this side job so I'm willing to negotiate on payment and the terms. My hours are usually different every week, but very flexible. I check my email regularly - several times a day - so I can easily be reached there or by phone.
