At age 12, I began my life of service to the community through First Baptist Church of Florien, La. It was there that I discovered my heart and passion for helping others rise from the mires of life. I understand the struggles that every day persons go through. At the age of 19, I became and orphan, worked forty plus hours/week, volunteered, and managed to get a graduate degree from Henderson State University.
In 2011, I began to work for a nonprofit organization that assisted adults with disabilities live normal lives in an area where prejudices often keep those persons down. Since then, I have been an advocate, attending state rallies to help cover services for individuals with disabilities in the state of Arkansas.
In 2014, I began volunteering at our local United Way to assist with writing grants, community out reach strategies, and program evaluation. Since January of 2018, I have been assisting other non-profit organizations to secure funding.
