I started out programming 8080s in assembly code and PDP11s with punch cards 30 years ago, and have worked on a wide variety of hardware and software systems ever since. The languages and protocols change constantly, and this years favorite will be obsolete a couple years down the line. But, the fundamentals of software never change, and good, efficient, practical design never goes out of style.

My specialties these days are web database systems using PHP, Perl, and MySQL, and I do quite a lot of work with PLCs and ladder logic industrial machine control software. Extensive experience with Allen Bradley, Horner (my favorite), Vijeo, and Unity pro software, but I can write for any system.

Graduated from MIT with an SB degree in Electrical Engineering, and have experience with digital circuit design. Very conversant with electrical system design and creating hardware/software interfaces, especially in regards to PLC operation.
