I strive to help small businesses to be more productive

15 years ago, when I was home for Thanksgiving break during Grad School, I saw my mom working feverishly with a stack of papers, a notebook, a pen, and a calculator. She was calculating how long kids were at the after school program before their parents picked them up. I found out that she spent about 5 hours a week generating invoices, collecting payments, and calculating balances due. She wasn't paid much for running this program and it took valuable time away from spending time with her family. I knew I could help. That weekend, I built her a Microsoft Access Database that automated her process. I showed her a demo of the program, the simplicity of updating data in the forms, and the ease of generating and printing standard invoice reports. She understood it and loved it. This program took the time she spent per week from 5 hours down to 30 minutes. She used it for 15 years and when she retired, she passed it along and it is still being used. Being able to help my mom spend less time doing busy work and more time with her family gave me a passion for learning productivity tricks and helping others to learn more as well.

Work Terms

I work as needed on projects. I am comfortable with whichever communication style works best for the client.
