About

Tammy is an accomplished composer. Through her ability to craft and play multicultural music and instruments, she provides music that fits the needs of films, commercials, and video games!

Classically and Contemporarily trained in the piano, voice, and various traditional Japanese instruments, Tammy Le composes various works integrating foreign instruments with modern orchestral music. She began her training in piano at the age of 12, vocal training at age 14, and Japanese classical training by 17. Inspired by modern film and video game composers and studying world music at the University of Colorado Boulder, she understands how to craft non-western music styles and instruments with modern western music. She has written music for friends and short film projects. In 2016, she scored for an entire play and by 2017 she scored an entire film for a production company. Her talents not only include composing music but also playing it. Jay Keister, a professor of ethnomusicology, has recommended her for collaborative works with other performers and music directors that require a composer or a piano, shinobue, shamisen, shakuhachi, or taiko player. Throughout the years, she has done many collabortive works and performances. Tammy has also taught Japanese and western music in the Boulder area. She has performed, engaged, and learned music with the CU gamelan and Japanese ensemble for many years and has also performed contemporary music at CU’s DiMA concert for 2 years. Alongside music, Tammy had earned a degree in Environmental Geology and a minor in Japanese as well. During her free time, she practices martial arts, playing music, snowboarding, and playing video games.
