The seasoned author of many publications (including magazine articles, stories, instruction manuals, training procedure guides and a grammar guide for university students), I have been helping clients find their desired words for 15 years.

I have a razor-keen eye for detail, which has enabled individuals to find better ways of presenting their work (e.g., resumes, essays, articles), companies better ways of presenting theirs (e.g., brochures, educational materials, technical publications), and government agencies greater efficiency in presenting their procedures to staff. My belief is that précis is precious and that an over-reliance on software programs to catch a writer's errors can be disastrous.

My skills revolve around deep line editing and proofreading. Words can often be sharpened into something far more effective than a writer might initially believe.

It often takes a honed eye to compress a message into a pithier spearhead. My academic background hails soundly from the realm of the English language. My M.A. in Biography (an interdisciplinary course that combines English and History) is complemented by both my training for a T.E.F.L. (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification and my diploma in Freelance and Feature Writing from the London School of Journalism. All this achieved by 2003, I proceeded to found my editing service, The Text Vet. Words are my life.

In January 2015, the work of my co-author and me—a commissioned guide to English grammar for students at a major Canadian university—appeared hot on the heels of a stellar book launch and media reception. "Revisiting English Grammar" topped the bestseller list in Winnipeg for nearly a month. I am also the author of three works of fiction, all available for sale online.
