I have 20+ years of application development experience. I'm passionate about efficiency, error handling, automation, documentation, and educating people involving all things IT.
Hello! I'm Tom, and I am one of the nerdiest peoples you'll ever meet. I've been using computers since I was 9 years old (thanks Dad!) and have loved every minute of it. I am very experienced when it comes to all things IT - especially application development.
I'm very advanced when it comes to SQL (10/10) and have worked with the following platforms: SQL Server, Teradata, Oracle, DB2, and Netezza. I'm very good at creating / utilizing triggers and stored procedures to enhance my applications. I have a lot of experience with database design and administration, working as a DBA for several years. I have experience using DataStage (I'd give myself a 7/10).
I have experience with (Windows) server administration, including: IIS, WMI, taking advantage of Event Viewer, Task Scheduler, ODBC, and Performance Monitor.
I am passionate when it comes to automation, error handling, performance tuning, and documentation (coding standards, disaster recovery plans, technical specs). I am very good at creating powerpoint slides and, if available, will document everything using a wiki.
I am very good in the classroom and would be happy to teach you or a group about a variety of topics.

Work Terms
I currently work 8-5 during business days - though I do have a few weeks off so I'd be able to schedule classes. I plan on working during early morning and evening hours and would be willing to work some nights. I can take on up to 15-20 hours of work a week.
I will work remotely and can talk either on the phone, via email, or a chat program of your choosing. I'm willing to work on my system at home or I can VPN into your network. Take a look at my services.
