25+ years as a Graphic Designer/Illustrator/Art Director
Toni Pawlowsky- Bio
Love of page design and passion for illustrations to tell a story has taken me on a wonderful journey of education and experiences in the world of art and design!
I graduated fro the Madison Area Technical College in 1977 and began my career in the printing and pre-press department working for the, 'Daily Camera' newspaper in Boulder Colorado.
I have gone back to school several times to update my skills in the industry as the digital world was born and to keep up with current computer and production trends.
For 30 years I have had a home-based office working as a contractual Art Director, Graphic Designer, Illustrator and Fine Artist. This includes graphics and illustrations preparing digital files for print and web. I have had an incredible diversity in clients as well as projects, design formats, editing needs and styles created.
I have worked with Marketing and Project Managers, Owners, Producers, Artists, Printers, other clients, venders and team members.
My longest standing client was ‘Music for Little People’, a music company for kids working with them from 1996 until it was bought by Concorde Music in 2015
(Music For Little People has garnered over one hundred forty awards, including fifty-three Parents’ Choice awards!)
In addition to being an Art Director for MFLP, (where I started illustrating for CD covers, working up to include the designing of CD/DVD books), I have created labels, sell-sheets, flyers, advertisements, POP displays, character designs, logos, icons, web banners, web content and images, and other miscellaneous goodies that have come my way.
I also have many years experience in the education field. I have worked part-time teaching Drawing, Design, Photoshop, and Illustrator at the Madison Media Institute and Color Media at the Madison Area Technical College in Wisconsin.
I have been an exhibiting watercolor painter at Fanny Garver Gallery in beautiful downtown Madison, WI from 1990 until it closed it's doors
Work Terms
I am available and a quick responder to emails, texts and phone calls. After communicating and viewing information from a client including time frame for finished work and all terms as well as the work expected, I like to create a rough drawing/idea to assure I am heading in the direction my client is desiring. From there, I can go to a finished drawing to send to my client for approval or edits. Final work is created once a drawing/layout/idea is confirmed by client.
Preferably, I like 1/3 payment to start the job, 1/3 on drawing or design approval and 1/3 at finish and all files sent to client. Of course, I am always willing to negotiate terms.
