After graduating from Falmouth University in 1996, leaving the sunny weather and
beach lifestyle behind I headed to work in the big smoke, London. Dropping straight in at the deep end developing interactive CD-Roms and presentations for the likes of Bonham's Auctions, Deutsche Telekom and Clydesdale Bank. After two years I decided to leave the bright lights and move back home to the toon.
I needed to update a lot of my skills, moving direction from using Lingo in Macromedia Director to HTML and CSS in Dreamweaver, allowing me to create static, brochure sites and then moving on to dynamic content when I joined Leighton after a period of freelance work.

Working alongside developers allowed me to grasp the basics of using ASP/PHP, and using content placeholders to pull in dynamic content from linked data sources. Finally I found my feet at Infinite Design Consultants where I’ve spent the last 15 years, bringing their digital vision to life with many varied projects from interactive exhibitions, presentations and various apps for mobile devices. CMS driven websites being built primarily in Wordpress and optimised for clients to easily update them.

Since leaving Infinite in May 2019, I’ve been working Freelance, building websites for various new startups and companies in the region.

Many of the jobs I do today never existed when I started my career, this has made me constantly explore and learn new digital skills.

Skills to account for which have come from working in the industry, skills that came with experience and from working alongside stakeholders and team members to reach the desired, and successful end result.; team player , being organised and patient, calm and analytical, able to understand and solve problems.
