I was constructing a model for my MA Interior & Spatial Design degree show and came across guru.com, looking for someone who could make my structure rotate off a motor, in both directions, and at very specific timed sequences and co-ordinates. After about 2 days, i received a 'bid' from Mr. Tom Smith who wanted to know my requirements in more detail...
After replying back, not only did he clearly explain all the different parts i would need (as well as providing links that showed their costs), but also suggested alternative methods/components that could be considered - all before giving a quote or agreeing to anything. A gesture of good will in my books.
After sending him the motor and turntable mechanism i had constructed, the components, now rigged to a circuit board, H-bridge, dial, buttons and an optical encoder (which i am sure Tom can explain more clearly) were returned back to me within 8 days. I was kept up-to-date regularly on the progress of the project with all my answers clearly and patiently answered, both by email and by phone.
Even after the payment was received, Tom very promptly answered my emails requesting invoices for the purchased components, that i needed to show to the exhibition curators.
I cannot stress how happy i am with the results and expertise from Tom. I certainly feel that i got what i paid for. Efficient, professional, friendly and polite - Highly, highly recommended. Thanks again Tom for your help! I look forward to working with you again.
