Highly motivated MS in Electrical Engineer with over 10 years of extensive experience in R&D, VHDL FPGA Design, Embedded Microprocessors Design, Embedded Real-Time Processing Data, circuit design, PCB Layout and Instrumentation for the harshest of environments – from Military Airborne Instrumentation to Space/Aerospace. Ability to develop innovative solutions in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Design and develop a variety of state-of-the-art electronic systems for military and space applications.
Extensive engineering hardware design experience in aerospace systems.
NASA Aerospace Science Instruments (Electronic Circuit Design, Embedded Data Acquisition, Test and Integration).
Extensive FPGA design experience in System on Chip (SoC) designs (Xilinx, Actel, Lattice, and Altera).
Extensive experience with embedded microcontrollers ARM, 8051, Cortex and fault tolerant LEON2 and LEON3.
Working experience with wide range of sensors (accelerometers, magnetometers, temperature sensors, pressure sensors) and military GPS systems.
Working experience with several photon and image sensors, including micro channel PMT (Hamamatsu Photonics), near infrared and mid infrared CCD sensor (Sofradir), APD, etc.
Implement different communication protocols (SPI, I2C, RS232, RS485, CAN bus, Space Wire, Ethernet, SFP).
Design and select analog front ends for various types of sensors as well as data acquisition boards.
Extensive PCB layout design experience.
Experience debugging development hardware and troubleshooting electronic hardware system.
Skilled programmer with VHDL, C, Matlab, SciLAB, Embedded Real-Time OS (RTEMS).
Skilled software user with Vivado/ISE, Libero, MoldeSIM, Symplify, Altium Designer, OrCAD, Microsoft Office applications, and more.
Fluent in Spanish and proficiency user in French.
Work Terms
Personal communication when possible in DC area. Skype and emails preferred. Work will be done under a freelance contract - this is beneficial for both parties.
