A resident of the DC Metro area for 17 years, Joylyn Hopkins is very active in professional and social groups in the region. She has been an event planner for local social organizations, as well as a board member of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of DC. She is also involved in local alumni chapters of both James Madison University and Sigma Alpha Iota.

Joylyn possesses 16 years of non-profit experience with organizations including the Latin American Youth Center, DC Rape Crisis Center, American Architectural Foundation, International Student Conferences, Posse Foundation, KaBOOM!, Washington Chamber Symphony, Washington Review, American Diabetes Association, Wolf Trap, the National Symphony Orchestra, the Iraqi Cultural Society and the Washington Shakespeare Company. Her duties have included publications management, public relations, sales, event management, office management and project management.

Joylyn holds a M.A. from American University and a Bachelor of Music from James Madison University.
