Traveling, Blogging, and Spreading the Lingua-Franca.
Hello! My name is Victoria and I am from the United States. Although I'm technically from the United States, I'm more of a citizen of the world because I'm an avid traveler and therefore all over the place. In addition to traveling, I'm a travel photographer and English teacher. I keep a travel photography blog, which you can see linked in my profile, and I spend a lot of my free time going on adventures and exploring my surroundings.
As for my credentials, I have my Bachelors in International Studies with a minor in History and my Masters was in Central and Eastern European Studies with a focus on Holocaust History. Although I considered studying English, the English department at my university only offered an English degree that emphasized literature and thus not helping me reach my goal towards teaching English (History majors write just as many papers!). Therefore, I studied what I loved and decided to get qualified outside of university by getting my CELTA. Both degrees required endless amounts of papers and essays as well as two theses. My Masters thesis, which was entitled Moral and Ethical Challenges faced by Male Jewish Prisoners in Auschwitz, ended up being around 85 pages and thus, I have quite a lot of experience in writing considering the time I spent on it.
Post-CELTA, I tutored on the side and eventually began teaching in South Korea which leads me to now, two and a half years later. I'm currently in Tanzania as a volunteer English teacher at a rural high school until December. Thus, I now have a lot of experience in editing essays and theses of colleagues throughout my university career as well as my EFL students.
As I keep a blog, I'm also available for blogging.
