About

I'm just me!

My name is Wendy and I have been a professional writer and photographer for over 30 years, either working with others or on my own. I was given my first camera when I was approximately 8 years old and have been living life through a viewfinder ever since.

I started taking pictures of my friends, family and pets and writing on a regular basis. When I was in high school, I took photography as one of my electives. I was quickly chosen as a contributor for our high school yearbook and many of my photographs were used over the next few years. I was well-known for my sports photography, as well as for my candid shots.

Over the years, I have expanded my horizons and now include event photography, portraits, wedding, and tastefully done boudoir photos. I have photographed many local and internationally known bands for the Harley Davidson dealership in my hometown.

When I lived in the Grand Rapids area, I also became friends with many of the top disc jockeys in the area. I have been around music and bands all of my life and understand the protocols of event photography. I enjoy getting to know my subjects and will often capture them in moments that show them as they truly are.

Candid shots are possibly my favorite out of all the photos I take. They represent a second in time where the subject is free of expectation and are truly themselves. I have learned through all of my years behind the lens that when a person knows they are about to have their picture taken, they slightly alter themselves so they can present a certain image for the camera. This is why I love the innocence of the candid shot.
