I work to make lives better by providing engaging, entertaining content that adds value to the lives of the reader.
The first piece I ever really wrote in my adult life was in 2004, when I was 16 about all of the reasons I thought drinking was stupid.
The piece itself is incredibly cringe-worthy in hindsight, but it was the start of something big for me. It was the first time I wrote something out where I really got to the root of why I felt the way I did about something.
Since then, while I make sure everything I write is funny, I also consider myself a mystery writer--not of crime, or anything of that sort. The mystery I like to write about is people. I like to uncover the answers to why we are the way we are, and what we could be doing differently.
This is surely the main drive behind my website: BeBetterStupid.com, but it also informs all types of writing that I do. Copywriting is often answering the question of how one's life can be better. Writing an article about love, or what apps you should download, or how to talk to people--these are all about helping people. They are all about showing people how they can live a better life.
That's what I try to do in everything I write--whether it's a profanity-laced article for my site, or a professional article more directly describing ways to live a better life for sites like ImMovingToLA.com.
I write to improve lives, and that involves taking big, complicated ideas (the mystery) and breaking them apart until they're not only digestible for my readers, but appetizing.
That is my mission, and I believe I'm damn good at it. So if you have work that requires someone to write to make your readers' life better, I think I could be the guy for you.
Work Terms
I'm really quite flexible with work terms. I can work hourly or based on word count. My hourly rate is typically around $23/ hour, but it's certainly negotiable.
My current rate is $3/100 words. As of now, this stays pretty constant but this can change depend on the ease or difficultly (i.e. necessity for research) of the project.
Paypal works for me for all payment (unless this is a normal job we're talking about of course).
I can be reached via phone or e-mail, but if I had a preference, it would be e-mail (I am a writer after all).
Over all, I don't have too many terms. I take pride in my flexibility, and my ability and willingness to work around what you need.
