A creator, a hacker, but most of all, a doer. I become energized at the prospect of developing useful, consumer facing apps which benefit society.
My name's Will Sullivan, and I'm a full stack developer / entrepreneur based in Western Massachusetts. I have both an artistic side and a technical side, and after much indecision in the choice between a right-brain career and a left-brain career, I have chosen not to decide. Instead, I pursue the best of both worlds as a software generalist with a focus on development. Although I am open to many projects, I am most passionate about consumer facing productivity and analytics applications that work to make life simpler. Apart from interest in the tools needed to develop, I'm interested in data mining (specifically graph mining), machine learning, AI and software.
I hold a bachelors degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (Magna Cum Laude) and a masters degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Throughout my education I worked on a number of research projects which included MPEG video encoding applications, analyzing properties of random boolean networks and designing more efficient stochastic neural networks. I am a co-author on a soon to be published paper introducing a new random walk algorithm. The paper was written in association with CMU and Facebook. See my personal site for more details.
I work hard, and I absolutely love what I do. I like to be challenged, but I also know my limits. I am in the startup market, but I also do this freelancing work to continue building my portfolios.
Please send me a message if you'd like to talk! I'd love to hear from you, regardless of whether or not you have a job available.
