Your voice, your values, your goals brought to new audiences.
When I sit down to translate your text, I know I have the most incredible responsibility towards you. The words I craft will represent you to the world: your next university, your next employer or your next customer. My goal is to bring you to them, letting your words speak naturally in a new language.
My training as a literary translator is integral to how I work. A translation of a novel, poem or play must stand by itself, without the reader ever being aware that it ever existed in another language. I bring these values to my commercial work, too, acknowledging the time, effort and XXX you have invested in your words, and how important it is that they convey your voice and values to new readers.
I have been working as a freelance translator for two years, serving clients across the business, publishing and literary sectors. I hold the Diploma in Translation and am an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Linguists. In 2019 I was selected to participate in the Emerging Translators Programme run by New Books in German, and my work was longlisted for the Dryden Translation Prize.
