Chemical Engineering graduate and writing tutor seeking writing work to build a portfolio. Working on becoming STC-certified to start a career in the Technical Writing field.
I'm a chemical engineering graduate seeking to break into the field of technical writing. While in college and post-graduation, I've worked as a writing and mathematics tutor. Of that work, my clients have gotten internships, jobs (as result of resume editing), and study abroad opportunities.
I worked as a computer technician for approximately 5 years doing in-shop, on-call, and telephone support. I am familiar with computer hardware and software, Windows/Mac/Linux, basic web development, and databases (MYSQL). While not a programmer, I can understand syntax and programming concepts if such experience is necessary for your work.
When I was an undergraduate, I performed Biochemistry research and had a job as a biology lab assistant preparing solutions, cultures, etc. for students' use. Concepts from that area are very familiar to me. Think along the lines of ELISA/NMR/HPLC.
If nothing I've written above is relatable to your needs, try me! I'm adaptable and always looking to branch out. My natural talent is working as an in-between for subject matter experts and end-users.
I hope this gives you a bit of an idea about me. I'm looking forward to working with you!
