Dear Sir or Madam

I am a native English speaker, born in Manchester, UK. I have semi-retired after working for over fifteen years as an English teacher, and have proofreading and editing qualifications. I can work in both US and UK English formats.

My experience as a teacher of academic English has equipped me with the skills to provide a comprehensive proofreading and editing service. I understand and can use all the elements related to quality control in written work for style guides, grammar and mechanics, clarity, engagement and delivery. Working to the highest standards of work ethics, I always meet deadlines and produce the required standards


I have a system of quality control that includes; first proofreading and editing with Grammarly, adding comments and changes using Track the Changes in word. Finally, I review the final final version of the text, then send the document with the original version, the original marked up and the final version.

I am also an avid reader, so have a passion for creative writing and the writing process. With regards to terminology requirements, I conduct comprehensive research of appropriate style guides, related to various genres or professions.

Work Terms

I work flexibly over a 30 hour week, either working to milestones or payment on completion.
