My name is John Walker, and I am a second generation American who was raised in an immigrant community within Detroit, Michigan. In addition to the two years of Spanish Language classes that I had in high school, I had become somewhat accustomed to my European neighbors' many cultures and language skills, as well as those of the Middle Eastern immigrants who later moved into the area, and to my Indian coworkers' throughout my career. Often, in this regard, my life has been a fun game of charades!

My professional and personal backgrounds are quite diverse. I am a Degreed Web Designer, Senior Mechanical CAD Draftsman, Graphics (Bitmap and Vector) and Audio (.mp3, .wav, etc.) Editor, an avid Android User, Database and Utilities Programmer, Wood and Stained Glass Craftsman, Custom Picture Framer, Restaurant Worker, Sewing Machine and Auto Mechanic, Warehouseman, Production and Machine Shop Worker, Electronics Troubleshooter and Hobbyist, PC Tech Support Specialist, Musician, Amateur Astronomer, Photographer, Guitar and Chess Player, a Podcast, Shortwave, and Ham Radio listener, Martial Artist, Health and Diet Enthusiast, and an Eager Reader.

I currently live with my dear wife in the foothills of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and have grown children and young grandchildren.
