I am the first person in my family to ever go to college. This is how I want to start off by telling you why I am interested in business and more important, Finance.
I was born hearing impaired; it was really difficult for me to figure out what my family was saying. They had no idea I was deaf until I was in the 3rd grade. The one thing I could easily understand was math.
Now I speak almost perfectly, no one ever could even guess that I am deaf or ever struggled with speaking. I have great communication skills now, because growing up I realized that I needed to look at someone while they spoke to understand and completely grasp what they are saying to me.
I was working at an elderly foster home facility this last year; it was a great experience. I mostly worked in the office though as an assistant. I just typed up letters that the residents wrote, reorganized files, filed away papers and documents, and much more.
I am now going into college to get my bachelors degree in Business Finance and I just want to do so much with this degree. I want to travel around the US to help the people in need, I want to push through small businesses to get them running on the right and beautiful track to success, and so much more.
However the reason I am trying to find work now as a college student is for two reasons. 1) I said before I am a first generation student, me and my family can't afford to send me to college, I was raised with a single mother and financial issues, I just want to get some extra income to pay off the student loans as quickly as possible and pay for school myself so my mother doesn't have to struggle anymore. 2) I really want to start getting more experience so my resume will look amazing with my Bachelors degree in Business Finance.
