About

I am a mechanical engineer currently doing a masters in industrial design.

Engineering to me is beyond mechanics, thermo-fluids, and dynamics. It is about what we do to make people’s lives better. When running complex simulations, for example, it can be easy to focus on the challenges of the design and lose track of who or what the design is for. However, more often than not, the loads and forces are human beings with emotion, the potential malfunctions are injuries, and the users are often more complex than the design. Therefore, it is not enough to correctly calculate the fluid flows, element stresses, or safety factors. It is about understanding every facet of the problem from multiple disciplines, holistically, to reach and hopefully fix the root of the problem.
