Yakub Totanawala is a Bangalore based entrepreneur, a passionate writer, an optimistic leader, a listener and a humanitarian. He has completed his Post-graduation and served as the Bureau Chief of “The Bangalore Metro Reporter” fortnightly and as a Sub-Editor of “Our BTM” weekly newspaper.

Yakub is a published Author. His first fiction novel ‘The Branded Criminal’ highlights the suppression and manipulations of the marginalised communities, in particular a tribe named Chhara. The book covers the issues of discrimination, crimes, exploitation, communal riots, redemption, forgiveness, happiness, peace and liberation. It also contains holistic messages that foster peace and human welfare.

Being deeply involved in religious learning and community services for over 27 years, his association with priests, intellectuals and experts of various fields helped him gain spiritual insight.

He captained a youth organisation and worked for community programs on Health, Education, Environment, Sports, Talents, Unity and Harmony. He also headed several human welfare projects, and the distribution of excess food to the needy is one such activity.

He believes expressing in simplest form and thus, his writing connects with a large section of readers. Be it articles, blogs, books or research documents, his love for writing, research abilities, creative skills and zeal for contributing his best, gives satisfying end results.

He would continue his Author journey and write more books in both Fiction and Non-Fiction genres combining the reading experience with entertainment and knowledge.
