I remember when I first started out..
I was failing at every business I tried to start. but The failure was painful. But what was even more painful was the fact that I had no idea why I was failing.
I worked harder than everyone I knew. And I was just as smart as everyone else. So why was I failing?
it wasn’t the business I was in or even luck...
I was completely lost and confused. It felt like I was banging my head against the wall.
And every day, I was in panic-mode because I knew I had to “hustle” but I had no clear idea on what to focus on.
But luckily, I met my first mentor.
Here was the lesson...
I was making the mistake of being a “lone wolf” and trying to do it on my own.
Many people make this mistake. They think that if they’re smart enough and work hard enough, then success is certain for them.
Unfortunately, that’s not true.
To truly succeed, people need to be humble enough to accept help from others who KNOW what they’re doing.
So I listened to my mentor and I stopped trying to figure everything out on my own.
I started listening to my mentor’s advice because I wanted to achieve what he has achieved.
I didn’t know where to start...
So I took the YellowPages book (for those who don’t know what that is, it’s a huge book filled with phone numbers)... “No!” Then they would SLAM the phone.
Rejection after rejection.
This wasn’t what I was expecting when I got into copywriting. I wanted to be a highly paid expert like my mentor and all those copywriters I see.
So that day I made a decision. I would do whatever it takes.To BECOME a High-Income Copywriter.
That’s when my life changed.
Instead of doing it on my own, I leveraged my mentor’s experience and wisdom to get the results I wanted...
And that’s what mentoring is all about.
Not going at it with the “lone wolf” mentality… but attacking our goals with the “wolf pack” mentality.
Together, we will achieve our goals - so in the end, everyone wins.
