Database guru and programmer who does all his own work
I've been building websites since 94 and database driven websites since 96. And before that, I was doing some client/server stuff. After 1999, I got into building web-based applications. My database skills are heavy and it all started out at the urging of an IBM project team-member that I take my brain into the database arena and that proved to be a very lucrative thing to do.
Give me any business or process model and I can start to come up with the architecture/design of the database that powers it within fifteen minutes.
From all of the businesses I have consulted for, and all of the real life studies of actual businesses, and from my personal endeavors, I am familiar with just about any and every business model and knowledgeable about a ton of different disciplines and industries.
Work Terms
Depending upon the job, I usually divide the work up into milestones. The first payment made starts me on the project and usually the first thing that I do is to build the database and most of the administrative logic and back-end for it. I then get into the front-end piece for the user. The last payment usually is done after I perform all tweaks and move the finished product over to the client's hosting service.
