I am looking to have a website built to allow people to list their cemetery plots for sale. The website will be like some of these other sites listed below, but there are different things I like from each of these sites. The sites mine would be like are:

I like the look of the burial link site, but I like the way the Grave solutions site list’s the people’s plots for sale, it seems to make more sense.
I am building the site for my son who has special needs, because I want to make sure he has some kind of income.
I need to incorporate a credit card pay system, so people can pay me to place an ad to sell their plot. Stripe seems popular.
I want people who are looking to buy a plot to do a search by state and then we could list the different cities or cemeteries in the state.
I think I need a home tab, buying tab, selling tab, about us, FAQ, selling in your state, Scam alert list.
Here is an issue with scammers. People have had issues with people reaching out to a seller pretending to be a buyer and trying to get info from the seller, I think like bank acct info to “ send the money” Scammers are a big issue. How can we protect a buyer from this? Maybe we can’t. I was thinking of having a buyer register with the website and maybe even paying $1.00 to be able to look through sellers ad’s but I don’t want real buyers to get upset they have to pay and just leave. Any ideas to this issue would be great, but maybe there isn’t a solution.
I also want to sell ad space to funeral homes, flower shops and any other related product. In my mind I picture a buyer clicking on a state like New York and seeing all of the plot listings on the left and on the right would be all of the ad’s for that state only. So the basic breakdown of the site is :
To build a fully automated website where people can list their cemetery plot for sale. The site will have a smooth interphase where people can list their plots and pay for it all on the site. The cost for the listing will be paid by credit card using Stripe and the money will be transferred into an acct that is connected to Stripe.
The seller will be able to fill out a form and once they click submit, it will appear on the site for sale. Before they click submit they will need to check a box that they have read the agreement to use the website, and there will be a link to that agreement.
The buyer will need to register before looking up plots for sale. There will be no cost to register, but they will also need to check off the agreement box as well. The buyer will be able to do a search by state and the results will show up in alphabetical city order with the name of the cemetery next to that city.
The site will also sell adverting to vendors. If a vendor is interested in advertising they will simply click on the “advertise with us” button and will be charged $25.00 for the yr. The advertisement will be a link to their site. I will need to be notified when a vendor has requested advertising, so I can put their link on the page manually – Unless you have a better way of doing this.
Scammer tab – The scammer tab will be a page where people can list the name and info of a scammer like their e-mail address. The idea is to build a list of known scammers for other sellers to see so they can avoid those people when contacted and offering to buy their plot. This list will be ongoing and if we can put it in name alphabetical order every time a new name is added, that would be great.
I am open to all idea you may have to make the site better and or safer.
