We are looking for a Network Engineer or IT Specialist with expertise in campus-wide network setup and configuration to make our college campus, including hostel buildings, network-enabled. This is an on-site project in Patna, Bihar, and the selected candidate must handle the entire process from installation to configuration and testing.
The project involves installing and configuring the following networking equipment (equipment provided by us):
- Firewalls, routers, and switches (L2 and L3 switches with PoE features).
- Indoor and outdoor access points.
- Network racks, patch panels, and other infrastructure.
- LAN cables, conduits, fiber cables, and connectors.
The goal is to ensure seamless Wi-Fi and LAN connectivity across the entire campus, supporting all admin buildings and hostels. The setup should meet both current and scalable future requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Design and Planning:
- Assessing the campus layout and creating a detailed network design.
- Planning the placement of switches, routers, and access points for optimal connectivity and coverage.
- Ensuring compliance with best practices and security protocols.
Installation and Configuration:
- Configuring all networking equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls, and Wi-Fi access points.
- Setting up VLANs, IP address schemes, and network security protocols.
- Overseeing the physical installation of devices (labor provided by us).
Testing and Troubleshooting:
- Testing the network for connectivity, throughput, and reliability.
- Troubleshooting any issues that arise during installation or configuration.
Documentation and Training:
- Providing detailed documentation of the network setup, including diagrams, IP plans, and configurations.
- Training designated personnel on network management and troubleshooting.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Certifications (Mandatory):
- Certification in networking from an accredited institute such as:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher.
- Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP).
- CompTIA Network+ or equivalent.
Experience:
- Proven experience in designing and implementing campus-wide network infrastructure.
- Must have led similar projects or better in a lead role.
- Experience with PoE equipment, VLANs, and wireless access point configuration.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking.
- Hands-on experience with configuring switches, routers, firewalls, and access points.
- Familiarity with structured cabling, including fiber optics and copper cables.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team.
Project Details:
- Location: On-site in Patna, Bihar.
- Work Duration: Maximum of 1 month.
- Preferred Candidate: Candidates from Bihar are preferred for ease of communication and logistics, but it is not mandatory.

Deliverables:
- Fully operational campus-wide Wi-Fi and LAN network.
