We seek a talented materials designer to develop a new "cutting line" for a bladeless grass mowing system. We are currently using commercially available "trimmer line" that is not optimized for our product application. The new line must be able to cut the grass but not be so sharp that it can seriously injure the mower operators who may accidentally make contact with the line. Metal mower blades result in 80,000 Emergency Room visits per year in the USA. What we have developed reduces dramatically these catastrophic injuries, many of which result in amputations of fingers and toes of children in particular.
Our timeframe to evaluate prototype line is December 2024 - February of 2025 with a release to volume manufacturing by no later than March 2025. We are looking for the designer who can produce a design and fabricate prototypes for a durable and capable line, superior to what we currently have. We can then identify a a manufacturer to build the line in volume.
