Over the course of my writing career, I have written a whole lot of words for other people. As a journalist in the trade press and for general interest publications, I've written hundreds of paid, bylined articles; as a consultant and corporate employee, I've written everything from news releases to ad copy to detailed reports and business-changing memos. So when I started blogging and making videos a few years ago, I decided to leave a little space for writing of my own personal choosing — following my muse, as it were, while still creating work that is accessible and interesting to my readers. Admittedly, a whole lot of my online writing and social media activity is addressed in one way or another to the wonderful folks who have become my readers over the years, as a result of my published articles and/or my two published books, Spaceflight: A Historical Encyclopedia (2010) and Echoes Among the Stars (2000). But in both my blog, Media Intercept (http://mediaintercept.blogspot.com/) and my YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/patwalshvideo), I have also been able to address a wide range of subjects that are close to my heart, and I've been fortunate to find and interact with a whole lot of folks whose paths I might otherwise not have come across. And along the way, I have learned a whole lot about blogging and social media that may well be of use to virtually anyone who's interested in creating or expanding their online platform — and by extension, their business as a whole. So please feel free to check out my blog and my YouTube channel, and be in touch!
