Copy Editing – website copy, independent manuscripts, blog posts, journal articles, social media content, etc. Projects may require light, medium, or heavy copyediting services. I provide line-by-line edits that not only correct errors but also improve overall style, polishing your masterpiece to perfection. Content/Substantive Editing – For manuscripts, articles, and the like, content editing will consist of editing for fluidity and conciseness. Here are examples of what I would be tweaking: Plot Reviewing & Proofreading – content as listed above in “Editing” section; general comments and critiques on grammar, punctuation, and content quality. Examples of things to check for: Typographical errors Other – Projects will be on a case-by-case basis. They may be a combination of any of the above criterion, or we can work on a different creative project, altogether! Let me know, and we can work together to find something that works for your specific needs. Process: Quote – Generally, any work is charged by the hour unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties in writing. Rates are within industry standards. A quote will be provided, but may fluctuate dependent upon requests before a contract is finalized. Sample Edit/Copy – An initial sample can be requested, free of charge, to determine compatibility of my services and what you are looking for. Feel free to add recommendations/requests. Proposal – After the initial sample edit/copy, specific services are outlined that will enhance or improve the quality of the content and/or project idea, depending on its needs. Contract – Once editing/writing style is agreed upon, and both parties wish to move forward, a contract will be delivered (generally via email). Once both parties have signed the contract, and the content files/requests for copy are delivered, we can begin the editorial work. Work & Wrap-up – Depending on the type of services required, a detailed editorial letter or comprehensive analysis at the completion of the project may be included, as well as a thorough style sheet for authors and publishers.
