Excel Macros and VBA

MS Excel is such a powerful resource. Excel Macros and VBA programming mean that routine tasks can be automated, data can be checked or validated at input, and amazing complex routines can be achieved with VBA programming. From a simple day to day tasks , say a form where the user can enter expenses, an Excel Macro or User Form can make sure that the data entered is in the right format - pull down boxes can make sure that only permitted categories are selected. Excel runs background checks to ensure the form is completed accurately. To more complex projects where external data can be imported at the push of a button, processed and analysed with exceptions identified, put into report and graph format, printed or distributed electronically and archived. All at the push of a button! In a recent project I helped a busy High School Head Teacher to improve his management information system. The school used a government standard database to record all student information, including grades, attendance, behaviour and course information.
