It is possible to have more than one passion in life, and Christy has a deep and abiding love for words. Her love of writing and language began early and continues to flourish. Words cut. Words heal. Words explode. Words inspire. In short, words have the power to change the heart. If Christy has one singular mission in life, it is to guide people in changing their hearts. After receiving an acknowledgement for editing work in her friend, Tom Catton's, book, The Mindful Addict: A Memoir of the Awakening Spirit, she began actively seeking other writing opportunities. Christy worked a contributing writer to By U Magazine, and as a content writer for several web-based companies. She also delved into technical writing projects, business proposals and grant writing. Weaving language to best meet the genre of writing is a gift that flows with relative ease for Christy. With over 20 years experience in education, Christy has vast experience as a writer. She writes a blog, “Making It Up as I Go Along”, reflecting on her life as a mom of two girls with cystic fibrosis. Her eldest daughter received a double lung transplant, thrusting her upon a path in life for which there is no suitable preparation. The utter chaos and sheer beauty of life provides rich fodder for writing in varied areas like: cystic fibrosis, organ donation and transplantation, yoga, meditation, educational law, travel, art, and addiction recovery. She is currently writing a book about all these areas of life ventures, and in the spirit of making it up as she goes along, anything else that comes to pass.
