Manuscript Editing – Canadian, American

$27/hr Starting at $81

I can edit for Canadian, British or American spelling and ask that you tell me what you want.


I charge CAD 5.00 per page (250 words, double-spaced) and consider anything 5K words or more a manuscript. You can calculate your cost before hiring me. In addition, I have samples of editing for fiction and nonfiction to send you after you contact me.  I edit only in Microsoft WORD, using Track Changes, and can provide you with redline and clean versions of your copy and/or convert them to PDFs. If I have any questions, I will ask in the Comments (under the Review tab in WORD), and I will make suggestions to improve the text if I think it is necessary, explaining why without changing your voice. Once you review the marked-up version and answer my questions and comments (saving the document in a new version), you send the document back to me, and I will make the additional changes. Again, formatting, spacing, spelling, punctuation, grammar, consistency and conciseness are checked. 


I ask for a 50% deposit into Guru SafePay and the balance upon completion. We’ll confirm that in writing in our Guru agreement before we start, so there are no misunderstandings.
