I graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in English and worked on a creative writing capstone thesis, where I put together 48 original poems in a collection ruminating on air travel, foreignness and homesickness in a globalized world, and familial relationships. As a Poetry Writing major, I also attended 15 poetry workshops during my time in college, where I learned to appreciate, critique, and edit the work of my peers. Editing poetry is a very specialized skill--you have to find the balance between correcting grammatical, syntactical, and typographical errors without compromising artistic integrity. As both a traditional editor and poetry writer, I juggle these skills easily. I edit work with a conscientious, critical, but also compassionate eye. I will approach your work largely from an editor's point of view, but will still keep artistic concerns at the back of my mind.
