My work is conscientious, critical, but also compassionate. I know the amount of love and sweat that goes into a manuscript and am committed to making it the very best it can be for you!
By day I am a professional editor at a publishing house in New York City where I pitch ideas, acquire titles, edit manuscripts, and watch the entire process of the birth of a book.
As a professional book editor, I am attuned to the practical demands and trends of the industry. However, I am also a creative writer and am in touch with the needs and creative concerns of authors, whether it be about tone, style, theme, clarity, or cohesiveness. Finally, I am a trained and skilled proofreader in the Chicago Manual of Style and have a keen and rigorous eye for grammar.
I graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in English. While there I worked simultaneously on two different theses—one creative and the other academic—and was awarded Distinction. I am passionate about all facets of language, especially the reason behind why we even use language at all—to tell a good story.
My wide range of skills makes me a sharp, well-rounded editor, copy-editor, and proofreader all rolled into one. Most importantly, I am always dedicated to my clients and it is my pleasure to adapt to your needs. It is my job to make sure your manuscript conveys the message it intends to convey!
