A recovery coach is different than a therapist or other professional. Coaches add another layer of support for addicts and their families. I offer services to the families of addicts and to addicts themselves. Families often are overwhelmed by the treatment industry. There is no way to know which of the many kinds of treatment out their are the right choice for your loved one. No one knows that for sure, as there are no guarantees in recovery, but with a decade of first hand experience with almost every variety of treatment out there, I am well suited to help point you in the right direction. My program for parents revolves around the idea that many young addicts are resistant to treatment. Even if they are accepting of treatment, and want to recover with every fiber of their being, they still need a lot of tough love and guidence, namely to protect them from themselves. We will discuss ways to help motivate your loved one into recovery and use strategies to keep them there. We will deal with relapses, not just trying to prevent them but recovering from them as well. My specialty is opioid addiction, meaning prescription painkillers and heroin. I do sometimes, however, work with addicts that have problems with other substances. Today I coach the families of addicts like me who need direction in the wide world of addiction treatment and recovery. I also coach addicts themselves who need another layer of care on top of traditional treatment and professional counseling services. I offer coaching on a monthly unlimited or hourly basis. Coaching is available in person within a 30 mile radius of North Haven, CT (arrangements can be made for further locations) or by phone. Monthly coaching plans start at $299 for the first month and $199 for each subsequent month. Hourly coaching is $60 per hour by phone and $75 per hour in person.
