I previously worked as a claims officer for one of Australia's largest insurance companies where in we are tasked to lodge, perform initial assessment, conduct thorough review and provide assessment decision on claims. We handle claims from the beginning up until its finalization. We aim to satisfy our customers and as well as provide profit to the company. We educate the customers what they are insured for and what not. Aside from this, we communicate with service providers to ensure best services are provided to our customers and to resolve any issues arising during the progress. I was also a virtual administrative medical assistant for a well-known US gastroenterologist. As soon as I have received the referrals, I will initiate contact to the patients and conduct thorough health assessment over the phone. Once I have gathered all information and research, these are all entered in the system. Then, we will arrange our patients for an appointment with the doctor and for some who does not know the location yet, we provide directions from their home towards the clinic. Prior their appointments for consultation and/or procedures, we always provide health education and instructions to prepare them physically and mentally. Aside from dealing with the patients and health care professionals, I also manage clinic's faxes and other documents such patient health records. I also assist the patients on their insurance-related matters. I have worked in a BPO industry for several years now and it taught me to communicate well either through phone, emails or chat. I dealt with different types of customers and even handled their complaints patiently and efficiently. Decision making, analysis and problem solving are some of the skills that are mainly used and enhanced through this jobs. We also do a lot of research, reporting, studies and training to ensure we are calibrated and continue to provide quality service. Both of these jobs strive to balance quality service towards the customers and the company, making sure that both parties meet halfway and still end up in having a good and fair outcome. I am looking forward that I can provide this kind of service as well to my future employer.
