I have been writing stories ever since I could hold a pencil and make scribble marks on whatever paper was within reach. A passion for writing is an integral part of who I am. The joy of working with others to help edit and craft their stories, essays, or articles is a huge part of that passion, one that I love being able to provide.
I've been in various writing communities for many years, learning to give and receive honest feedback and criticism; the process can be a lot like rocks in a tumbler (any one else have one of these super cool things when you were a kid?), with their rough edges knocking against each other and smoothing each other into beautiful, polished stones. In college, my own writing was definitively shaped by opportunities to provide critiques for peers.
I hold degrees in English and History. My oldest and dearest writing expertise is in creative writing, such as fiction, novels, and poetry. I have a novel forthcoming. I volunteer as an editor for my college's literary journal, and have had some of my own work published there. But I also enjoy editing academic work, especially anything historical or literature related. My most beloved fiction genres include fantasy, historical, mystery/thriller, literary, and Christian fiction (though I am by no means restricted to those genres--they are just listed here to help give you a feel for my tastes).
I offer developmental editing as well as line editing/copy editing and proofreading. I love helping shape a writer's work into its best it can be no matter what stage of the process I'm in.
