OUTLINE OF WORK HISTORY

Being a self-professed English language nerd, I have trained myself beyond my formal studies to be proficient not only as a proofreader, copyeditor, and writer but as an ESL teacher/tutor as well. I thoroughly enjoy producing work that is well-researched and enjoyable to read when writing. In proofreading and copyediting, all work is polished to reflect the hard work of clients; I actively correct syntactical, grammatical, and cohesion errors while offering comprehensive notes to all my clients on how to improve their own writing projects.

Having worked several years as an ESL teacher/tutor (all ages and all levels, both in the classroom and online) I have learnt that writing skills are often neglected in most programs offered. As the demand for English grows, particularly over the pandemic, I apply my gained experience to correctly help clients communicate what is required in written form, correcting any and all errors that arise. My habit of paraphrasing students for more comprehensive notes and a continued learning experience outside lessons also means I can easily adapt to my clients' needs.

I have worked concurrently as an ESL educator and proofreader, copyeditor, and writer since 2015 while studying. This has given me unprecedented time-management skills and has helped me to develop my skills in such a way that I can meet tight deadlines without the quality of my work slipping.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Arts, Honours in Theory of Literature from the University of South Africa (UNISA, 2021) with distinctions in Research Methodology, Theory of Narratology & Poetry, and Theory of Drama.
Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from UNISA (I completed this course with 17 distinctions across English, Theory of Literature, Text Analysis, Linguistics, and of course Creative Writing, 2019).
I have also completed a Diploma in Journalism and a Certificate in Creative Writing at Intec College (2009).

Work Terms

Projects need to be booked with a reasonable time frame (3-5 days) to ensure the highest quality work - this is to benefit you, as my client.

I accept NO plagiarised academic work - all work is checked for originality before accepting.

I offer comprehensive notes to native and non-native speakers on corrections made to help improve future writing projects.

All payments are to be made directly through Guru.
