I hope my profile and this Bio highlights the education and experience necessary for the genre of writing that you fancy. I would like to share that a couple of different college professors brought to my attention that I have an uncanny ability to write. It started when I was an undergrad and my English Professor expressed that I have the ability to write in the abstract; later, another professor commented on one of my papers, "You write at a graduate level?!?" He was surprised as a result of several students struggling to write in order to pass their general college courses. Once this was brought to my attention I realized that my interest in dabbling in poetry . . . Perhaps, was more beneficial than I realized! Still, I accept the possibility, similar to Poe, I have the gift to write a novella, but there is the technical aspect of writing that I offer as well.
