Discovering the unwritten biographies of the world
I am bilingual and have dual nationality.
I have a fascination with Plato, travel, telenovelas, the French language, ethical quandaries, magical realism (literary genre), anthropology, foreign films, mysteries of the deep sea, math, card tricks, and even clowns. In my idle moments I like to imagine how I would perform as an actress.
My dream job was and is to be an explorer, but I was born in an era in which most of the world has been mapped.
My educational background is in Philosophy. I received my Bachelor of Arts from Aquinas College (Nashville, Tennessee, USA) with a minor in Theology. I received a liberal arts education which values the pursuit of wisdom for its own sake and equips the mind with the broad knowledge foundations that are necessary for freedom of thought, rational discourse, and self-governance.
I understood, however, that while my philosophical education was personally enriching, it was not directed toward a specific job in the workforce the way, for example, that a nursing degree is oriented toward nursing.
When faced with the options of pursuing graduate school or finding employment, I did not hesitate to focus on job-seeking, especially in consideration of my student loans.
Given the natural dispositions I have in working with children and being within an educational environment, I chose to focus my energies on teaching at a preschool and gaining experience teaching ESL on the side within my local city, all the while having the intention of eventually teaching English abroad.
I am now living abroad and having reached this much anticipated goal, I would like to broaden out the skills I have put to practice and allow myself the opportunity to occupy some of my free time in a productive way helping others within the freelance community who need collaboration on their projects.
I would be delighted to be considered for your next assignment.
