Professional technical editing/writing, document design, and content creation for print, publication, online distribution, and presentations
I have a varied background that includes writing for many international magazines and newspapers such as Worth Magazine, Where Magazine, Denver Magazine, the Rocky Mountain News, Wine Enthusiast, and Sommelier Journal, all of which have taught me to write and edit professionally. I've created technical materials, websites, and social media campaigns for my own businesses and understand how to properly position companies in today's fast moving economy. I also bring to the table strong proficiencies in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint), FrontPage, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Adobe Acrobat, Google Adwords and Analytics, cloud-based computing platforms, and other social media-specific online and mobile platforms such as Wordpress, Constant Contact, Hootsuite, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Vine, and Periscope.
My past careers have included directing and consulting for financial and estate planning divisions of several major financial services corporations, where I analyzed and presented materials for use in estate, business continuity, retirement, and wealth transfer planning. I have also led behind-the-scenes tours of wine country worldwide and worked in many aspects of the wine, beer, spirits, food, and tourism trade, including as a contributing editor and PR/marketing/communications specialist.
I have earned a JD (emphasis in taxation), an MBA (in marketing), and qualified as a Microsoft Certified Software Engineer (MCSE). I'm a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors, a three-time first-place winner in the Pikes Peak Writers Conference Paul Gillette Memorial Writing Contest, and a four-time finalist in the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers Colorado Gold Writing Contest. I've also traveled extensively, particularly in North America, South America, and Europe, all of which have contributed to the various areas of my subject matter expertise.
I'm a voracious reader, am married, and live in Denver, Colorado, USA.
