Putting it right.
Hi! I'm Breann. Since I can remember, I've been fascinated by words and language, both written and spoken. But fascination alone wasn't enough: I had to fulfill fascination by learning.
My studies have included: 10+ years of Classical and Medieval Latin, including 6 semesters at a college level; 3 college semesters of Attic and Koine Greek; 2 years of high school level German; cursory self-directed study of French, Spanish, Italian, and Dutch cognates and sentence structure; extensive self-directed study of the roots, development, and current usage of the English language; and self-directed study of the art of proofreading and copyediting.
Other skills and credentials include: familiarity with the programs Microsoft Word and OpenOffice; familiarity with the translation software program memoQ; over 21,000 words of proofreading and copyediting technical texts translated from Dutch and German; over 220,000 words (approximately 115 hours) of proofreading and copyediting fictional texts, including texts written by nonnative speakers of English;
and over 10,000 words committed to memory in the form of classic poetry, prose, and quotations.
Putting things right is like magic to me, but in order to work that magic, I need you and your words.
Let's make magic together.
