About

Making users happy, making you happy.

As a UX Researcher, I care about my work on a very detailed level. I care about the initial requirements before a project has started to help the team stay focused and in scope. I help build the information architecture while collaborating with our clients so we can make content flow logically. I help prototype wireframes so everyone can understand how the site will work before we spend time building it. I work closely with designers and developers to start moving towards a design direction, and to make those wireframes become the reality. And most importantly, I test with users.

I run user tests at the beginning of a new project so I can see where people experience pain points and so we know where to focus our improvements. I use my expertise along with my team to review our prototypes so we address these pain points directly. Then once we build it all out, we run user tests again to verify those pain points have been resolved. As professionals, we know what's best to make a website stand out alongside their competitors, keeping new technology in mind, following industry standards for best practices (even 508 compliance), and making it look awesome. But you can't always predict the user experience of a site. No matter how awesome you make something look, if your users can't use it, it's not worth having.

I take pride in my work. I trust my randomly compiled sets of users (of ALL experience levels) to help me find the REAL problems, no matter how obscure. I'm a firm believer in user-centered design. If you're not making your users happy, they aren't making you happy.

Work Terms

I work flexible times based on whatever time zone you are in. I like to stay in frequent contact through Slack, email, or another messenger of your choice, with occasional phone calls or webconferencing to talk through milestones or bigger questions. I'm happy to split up projects by milestone or on an hourly basis, whatever is easiest for you.
