My mission is to be able to convey, summarize, and compose while also remembering the humanity involved in each word I choose as well as the message that my words impart on the reader.
I was proud to spend the majority of my professional career as an educator; I taught high school English, yearbook, and newspaper for eighteen years, and while I loved to instruct others on the importance of quality writing, I also maintained a passion for composition myself. I am passionate about education and the classroom, not only using my own experiences as a teacher from which to build, but also listening to my husband, also a veteran high school teacher (although he teaches adjunct at Denver University).
When Multiple Sclerosis made it impossible for me to continue teaching, I was hired by the largest home builder in Colorado: Richmond American. For the past four years, I've been part of sales, both as an on-site sales representative and a new home specialist.
Personally, I live a life full of culture, family, and love. I come from a very large Greek family and spent my youth submerged in our culture: Greek school (where I went on to teach as well), dance, church, and more. Now, I have my own sons -- three teenage boys (insert sigh here) -- steeped in our Greek family as well. I have been married to my husband for nearly nineteen years, although we often still act like newlyweds. We're beyond lucky that way.
I have wanted to be a writer my entire life, and I feel as though I finally have a platform on which to do it.
